On March 1, 2012, AZRE (Arizona Real Estate Magazine) hosted the 7th Annual RED Awards ceremony in Phoenix, AZ to recognize the most notable commercial real estate projects of 2011. A record 116 projects were submitted by architects, contractors, developers and brokerage firms in Arizona.
Devine Legacy on Central, a five story, 65 unit family apartment community in Phoenix, AZ was named “Best Multi-Family Project”. The project, which UCRC has committed $1,335,000 term financing, was developed by Native American Connections Inc. and features high end appliances, leasing center, business center, fitness center, recycling center and trash chute, gated parking garage, media center with video games and computers, and community courtyard space complete with barbeques and playground equipment. Units consist of studio, one, two, and three bedrooms and is across the street from the Campbell Central Avenue light rail station.
The multi-family project is pursuing LEED Platinum certification with its use of outdoor air ventilation, water fixtures and preservation of 31% of energy through recycled materials. Devine Legacy was also deemed as an “Outstanding Housing Initiatve” by the Arizona Department of Housing for energy preservation and high-density design.
